Register your concession
If you have an eligible concession card from the Department of Families, Fairness and Fair Housing, Department (DFFH) of Veteran's Affairs or Centrelink, you can register to reduce the amount you need to pay on your bill.
Who can apply?
Yarra Valley Water customers with an eligible concession card can register for a concession online. Your name and address on your concession card must be the same as those on your water account.
If someone else in your household is over 18, holds a valid concession card and helps pay the water bill but isn’t named on the account, please call us on 1800 680 824. We can check whether they’re eligible for a concession.
Eligible concession cards include:
- Department of Veterans' Affairs Repatriation Health Cards
- Department of Veterans' Affairs Pension Concession Card
- Centrelink Health Care Card
- Centrelink Pension Concession Card

How much is the discount?
You could receive up to 50% off your usage charges each year, up to the maximum concession amount.
The concession amount applied to each bill is based on the number of days in each billing cycle. The daily concession is capped at $1.0449 for water and sewerage services, and $0.5225 if you only have a single service, such as water only.
The maximum annual concession amount is:
• $381.40 per year if you’re billed for both water and sewerage services
• $190.70 per year if you’re billed for a single service, such as water only.
If you’re eligible, we’ll apply your concession to previous bills from the start date on your card. If your card started more than 12 months ago, we’ll backdate it for up to 12 months. Any eligible amount will be credited to your account.
We’ll then automatically apply the concession to future bills while your concession card remains valid.

With MyAccount you can:
- check if there is already a concession registered on your account
- add or update your own concession details
- download previous bills to check the concession rebate amount.
