Hume locals invited to drop in for help with water bills
A Yarra Valley Water team will visit Broadmeadows Library this month to help customers register their concessions and learn about payment plans and other ways to save money.
Hume residents can visit pop-up stalls at the library where Yarra Valley staff will also be available to help customers.
Staff will be at Broadmeadows Library, 1093 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows on:
Monday 18 March from 10.30 am - 1.30 pm
Wednesday 20 March from 11 am – 2 pm
Monday 25 March from 10.30 am - 1.30 pm
Wednesday 27 March from 11 am - 2 pm
It’s part of a campaign to raise awareness of the organisation’s WaterCare program, which supports customers experiencing financial vulnerability.
Managing Director Pat McCafferty encouraged locals to reach out to the team for help.
“We know many of our customers are feeling the effects of a rising cost of living and we want them to know that we’re here to help,” Mr McCafferty said.
“We hope that by getting out in the community and meeting people we’ll be able to help customers find the financial support they need and help more households,” Mr McCafferty said.
Customers with an eligible concession card can save up to 50%. Eligible concession card holders can save an average of $209 a year off their water bills.
Customers who are experiencing financial hardship can also apply for a Utility Relief Grant of up to $650 off their bills, or switch to smaller more regular payments.
