From here, the Commission will undertake a review and publish a draft decision about our submission by 9 March 2018. At that time, our customers will have further opportunity to have their say about our submission and the Commission’s draft determination which will be available at esc.vic.gov.au. The Commission will make a final decision by June 2018.
Since March 2016, over 24,000 customers have been engaged in a conversation with us about services and pricing. Our aim has been to find a balance between price and service which is fair for everyone.
We know that affordability of essential services is an important issue for households and businesses. We’re aiming to keep bills as low as possible, while maintaining the water and sewerage infrastructure we manage on the community’s behalf to ensure it continues to meet the needs of current and future generations.
We’re pleased to announce that our submission to the Commission provides for no change in bills between 2017/18 and 2018/19, with annual adjustments for the following four years kept below the inflation rate. Yarra Valley Water’s average bill is now $29 lower than in 2013, and $106 lower after allowing for inflation.
